Create disc - crashes every time now

Post by madkitty »

 Have been using VS10 for well over a year with no problems and recently authored and created a disc last week however since then I have had no luck and every time I go to create a disc the app crashes. Nothing new has been installed on PC and nothing deleted. Every time it also seems to show a different dll fault. Have tried uninstalling a couple of times but still no joy - any ideas?

Could be a bad batch of DVD discs. Try burning to a hard drive folder instead. If it works then you have a problem with either your DVD burner or the discs. If it doesn't work we have narrowed it down a bit and it could be one or more corrupted source files.

I dont even get that far - I render the video in the editor and then go to create disc, it loads the create menu page and then crashes :-(

Firstly try creating a test "DVD" (To a hard drive folder - no need to waste a disc) using some other source material - perhaps from a previous project or simply use the sample videos supplied with VideoStudio.

If it works then your source material is corrupted.
If it doesn't then we need to look a bit deeper.

In that case it sounds like your source file(s) are faulty.
What are they, where did they come from etc.
If they are video(s) (as opposed to a slide show) then did you create an edited MPEG2 file first or are you using the VideoStudio Project File (vsp)

So we now know, VS does not get along with GOM Player, which I've never heard of until now. Glad you have it fixed...:)
