Hello. This is something I've done many times before, but for some reason, now I can't. It's the soundtrack of the video that I'm wanting to fade in/out, not a separate sound track.
So I go to audio view and hover my cursor over the audio line but nothing happens thereafter. When I've tried clicking on the audio line, this has caused VS to crash which happened three times.
Previously, as I hovered over the audio line, a vertical arrow appeared and I would then click on the audio line to create a nube three or four seconds in. I'd then hover my cursor over the start of the audio, click on it, then drag the line down so that the audio faded in over that three or four seconds. Obviously, I can't do that now and am not really sure what's happened.
It's been a while since I did any editing and maybe I'm missing something but I'm sure that's the way I did this in the past. Is anyone able to assist? I'm using VS10 Plus. Thanks. Glynn.

Hi Glyn
To refresh your memory:
With a clip in the timeline, click the "Audio" icon immediately above the timeline. On the right panel click "Attribute" tab. There you will find the two Fade in and Fade out symbols to the right of the volumn control. You can edit the fade in and out by adjusting the rubber band on the audio clip that the fade in and out symbols create when you click them
