More important than 'tips,' what you relly need is 'workflow.' Do things in the right *order* and it can be easy - do them in the wrong order and you *will* end up tearing your hair out in frustration.
This is *THE* one you need.

The post title 'editing phase' is a tad misleading it really is 'camcorder to dvd.'
There are variations of detail as VS has evolved but the theoretical guts are all there and the variations aren't hard to figure out.
GL and have a

Hi Keegan
Not too new, joined a few months ago.
Looking at your other posts doesn¡¦t really tell if you are using DV or HD, but both have been mentioned.
A little more information is required please.
Update your forum profile to include your pc details.
Your location will tell us if you are in a Pal or Ntsc area, useful in advising on video properties.
In fact tell us everything that you know and we don¡¦t.
There are many tutorials available, lots of reading, links is below
There is also a link to my site below, aimed at Mini-DV .
So we can direct you in the use of workflows............
Editing is another matter, that comes with practice and how creative you feel.
