Does anybody know how to get Ulead to give support to somebody in the UK?

I would like to upgrade from my full version of Media Studio Pro 5.2 (bundled with a Fast AV Master I bought some years ago). I have no serial number that I can find (having looked in the help menu) and have been asking Ulead to help for over a month now.

I have tried customer support and technical support but all I get are automated responses.

I don't understand your problem, If 5.2 is on your computer, 7 will detect it without knowing your serial no. and install. I recommend you do it in a separate directory. If it is not installed, all it takes is to swap CDs when it requests proof and then swap back again. If you don't have a no. for v 7, how did you buy it? If you have a pirated copy, then that's your problem. If you downloaded it, then your no. will have been e-mailed to you. If it's a boxed version, then look at the sticker on the CD jewel case.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Devil. However, the problem I am trying to resolve is that I cannot purchase an upgrade from Ulead without a serial number - so I cannot even get to the point of testing whether my full version of 5.2 would be detected. If Ulead can confirm it will, then fine. Even if I cannot buy an upgrade from Ulead, I can source one elsewhere. But I cannot get anybody from Ulead to talk to me ...

That's why I am pulling my hair out.

And no, I am not a pirate. I just had the misfortune of acquiring my copy of 5.2 bundled with a capture card. Ulead know that some distributors have supplied software without serial numbers - in the relevant FAQs Ulead directs purchasers to go back the hardware manufacturer. I cannot as the manufacturer of my board was the now defunct Fast.

Therefore, I make my plea again: Does anybody know how to get Ulead to support to somebody in the UK? It really shouldn't be this hard to give somebody some money!

:shock: I have bought many an upgrade to different ULEAD software, never have I been asked for a serial number.

Don't know about VS, even though I have version 5 but it's not installed on my machine now. I use a number of ULEAD programs, all of them show me the serial number when I click on "Help" > "About", the serial number is listed right there.

Why are you concerned? If the upgrade policy on ULEAD's web site states that you are entitled to an upgrade from version 5, go for it.

Incidentally, my version 5 came bundled with my Firewire card and the serial number did not even have to be supplied by ULEAD, it was right there when I installed the software.
