Insert Audio track in between two tracks with VS Pro X2

Post by ghoofie »

I'm reaquainting myself with Video Studio, now using X2. I have searched forum and read thru manual, but can't figure out how to insert and audio track in between two audio tracks on the timeline in the music timeline. I want to insert a track and have all other tracks after shift on down the timeline. The only way I've been able to do it was to delete all tracks after the spot I want to insert, then insert the new track, then re-add the ones I delete. Example, I have track 1, track 2, track 3, track 4.
I want to add a new music track between track 1 and 2 and then have tracks 2, 3 and 4 shift over 'automatically'. I have been playing with ripple editing but that doesn't seem to do it.

Ripple editing is based on all other tracks remaining lined-up with the Main video track. So when clips are added to, or removed from the Main video track, all other tracks will shift accordingly.

Sorry No

The top track is the only track that automatically moves.
When inserting Audio the free/empty track has to be large enough to accommodate the new audio clip.

Using Shift + Click I would select tracks 2,3 4, and drag them all right to create the space, drag new clip to timeline,.
Select 2,3,4 again and reposition.

With earlier versions I would use both audio tracks, alternating audio clips would allow me to overlap the clips.
Fade in and out would create a X fade effect.

X2 does overlaying automatically. I don¡¦t use VS 11 to check this option.
