vs11 plus cannot create chapters

create DVD I add in my MPG2 file (as I have done for years) but vs cannot 'see' the file when I move to create chapters. WIN XP Pro. SP3. Since vs cannot see movie I cannot add them manually. The auto - create chapters is available but it crashes vs when I use it. Anybody have this issue?

How did you create the mpeg-2 and what are its properties?

And how exactly does VS not "see" it...? What does it do? Is there are error message?

Have you manually updated your DirectX?

mpg 2 created just like i have been doing for years. I move it to another machine and vs11 pro sees it just fine and autocuts the chapeters. so at least i have a workaround after I output. it is not the mpg2 file. i think it might be service pack 3 on the newer XP pro machine. i have to check. if it were not for multi-trim i would be looking to bail out of vs right now.
