Shadows when converting to psd in x3
Shadows when converting to psd in x3
I have Photoimpact 12, which can save as .psd, but it loses all of the shadows as well as other settings like soft edge, blending modes, etc. My question is whether X3 does a better job of keeping the original settings when saving as .psd? I have over 150 UFOs saved of my digital scrapbooking pages already. I have also saved them to .png but as my skills improve, I often go back and change my original design. Most of the people who do this hobby use Photoshop Elements, so I will probably make the switch to that if they stop developing Photoimpact. So then I would like my .psds to work correctly... Thanks for any input from X3 users. (I have Vista home premium, BTW.)

I done a quick test, creating an image in PI X3, saving it as a PSD. It had multiple objects, shadows on some. I split the shadows from the objects, placing them on their own layers. I then opened the PSD in both Corel PSP Photo X2 and PhotoPaint X4. All objects (layers) were present, including the shadows.
Had to come back and edit my post, as it seems you can no longer download a trial version of PI X3. I think Corel is really, ignorant in removing it. However I see they've dropped the price to only $19.99, if that's any consolation.
