All of a sudden, I am having a real problem with my PSP 9...every time I try to copy and paste something, I get this message.
Script Output
Executing run script..(which I am not even using my script). then it says.
CException open clipboard failed..error occured with command copy...
and it keeps repeating this..I am at a loss as to what is going on...
So far here's what I have tried to fix the problem.
uninstalled the program, rebooted, reinstalled the program, rebooted and tried to copy and paste, same error.
Last evening I went through the same ordeal, only instead of trying to copy and paste, I tried this. I went to File/Workspace/Load and then tried to copy and paste. Got the same error.
I have kept these versions of PSP, 9, 10 and 12 on my computer. I need these in order to help some members of my groups when they have problems. Not everyone can afford to upgrade so I just try to be helpful.
If anyone has any ideas as to how to get back my copy & paste option in version 9, I sure would be grateful.
Thank you for reading this,
Patti

I have PSP 9 (jasc) however not currently installed on my Vista (laptop). I'm almost certain that it will have severe problems running on a Vista machine. Also some the newer dual, duo, or quad-core systems may pose problems, as the program was written long before they were thought of. It's just not as simple as it seems, to install a program on a PC and expect it function properly, and to try and explain would take a page or two..
Another problem causing factor is updates. Not program (PSP) but Windows, anti-spyware, anti-virus, drivers for video cards, that may break older programs. A lot programs rely on ActiveX, or DirectX to run. You might try downloading installing the latest version of DirectX to see if it corrects your problems. It can be downloaded from Microsoft's Website. It is not one of the regular Windows automated updates.

First thing to try is resetting PSP by going to File > Preferences > Reset Preferences. Select all except the last option and click OK. Restart PSP.
If that doesn't fix the problem do a clean reinstall of PSP 9, using the Corel ZapPS utility to uninstall the old copy.
Download ZapPS from ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/PaintShopPro/X/zapps.exe.
Run it and select "Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9" as the product, select all four actions and click "Begin". It will take a minute or two to complete.
Although not strictly necessary, at this point I would restart the computer.
Reinstall PSP 9 and any patches you need. If your original copy is a US English version 9.00, you will need to install the 9.01 patch (http://ftp.jasc.com/pub/en/psp901enp.exe) and the 9.0.1.1 patch (http://ftp.jasc.com/pub/update/en_psp9011_jasc.exe).

Thank you Tim for your response.
I tried all that you recommended but the problem still persisted. This has just been so upsetting to me that I could not figure out what was causing the problem. I just happen to be chatting with a friend and they suggested that I do the following:
Open PSP 9, go to File/ Workspace / Load/ Choose Program.
I did this and rebooted my PC, opened PSP 9 and to my amazement, it worked. I was able to copy and paste. It's a miracle. *keeping my fingers crossed that the next time I open the program it continues to work.*
Thank you again for taking time to answer my call for help.

Try checking your firewall settings.i had the same problem, and actually found this site whilst trying to find a solution. i use CA security system as my anti-virus as well as their firewall. i found that PSP was on a list of programs that had restricted access to my computers system. as a result i could not copy, paste or cut. basically i just removed PSP from the list and everything went back to normal. it seems that my firewall placed most of my programs on a list by default. hope this will help anyone with a similar issue.
