Adding jpeg image to 3D Cool

I am trying to take the scene of the opening book, and changing the video on the inside page to a pic from my hard drive. I was able to cut the video from inside the book, but cannot figure out how to insert an image in it's place

try putting a thin box on the page, and use the jpg as texture

I'm not sure what you mean by 'cut' the video from the the inside. All you should need to do is replace the video texture that is being used with your image. Look at the texture attribute in the attributes panel for the object that contains the video texture. (I can't remember the objects name and I'm not at my editing machine right now).
