How To Use LabelFlash In MF6

Post by oka »

I opened MF6 and wanted to write on on my LabelFlash disk. How is this done? I could not find any button for LabelFlash labeling on disk.

I have LabelFlash drive and disks. I downloaded the "OEM" software to write on disk, but I am looking for a more robust software to use it. Something I can save my label setups as templates, or at least save labeling to comeback to it later.

I was informed MF6 can do it, but I cannot find where and how.

Thanks

Label@Once is the label printing utility for DVD MF. Have you tried there?

Ron, please direct me to Label@Once is in the printing arear. During labeling, I can't find any tab for Label@Once, according to the instruction I saw on Google. I have MF6 and am sure I did full installation.

The user guide could not find (search) Label@Once in the PDF file.
Thanks.

You need to access it from the Launcher. In Label@Once, look in the drop-down menu where the templates are found to see if there's something listed there for your LabelFlash.

I'm just guessing, but you're wanting to print a label for a disk right? So the difference would be that you're going to print directly on the disc itself, and not on a paper label. I have no experience with printing to discs, but logic tells me that it should be found in the Labeling part of the program.

Do you have the full version, or an SE version that came bundled with some piece of hardware? If it's an SE version, you may not have all the features of the full version.

Found this other forum doing a google search. It also speaks about Toshiba laptops with DVD MF and LabelFlash.. www.dreampicphotography.com.au

Ron, I have the full version.
When I get home tonight, I will open up MF6 and do what you instructed, and hope I find it. Will keep you posted.

Okay, at the Launcher, when I pick the printer icon, it opens up Ulead Label@Once for all printing purposes.

I carefully went through all the selections in the Printer, Media Type and Paper Sise but could not find any "Label" or "Flash" or LabelFlash to choose. I remember when I called Ulead last week, I was informed also that Label@Once would do LabelFlash. Why am I not finding the option?

Could it be I am supposed to install a plug-in for LabelFlash? Maybe my MF6 is missing that capability from Ulead. I need all the help I can to print on my LabelFlash discs.

What am I not doing right . . . ?

I'm at a loss, as I stated above I don't have, and have not used such a burner. According to Ulead's webpage HERE for DVD MF6, it should be able to. According to that somewhat limited tutorial, #3, states there should be a tab in the Launcher. So that begs the question is your LabelFlash drive recognized?

Ron, I re-opened my MF6 and selected the Launcher and the printer icon and still could not find the LabelFlash icon or button.

I then went to check a trial version, thinking maybe my copy is currupted, then I found the trial version is not just MF6 but MF6Plus. It it looks like it is the MF6Plus that has the LablelFlash capability. I will run to the office early in the morning to download it and try out . . . will give you the update as soon as I find out .

Thanks for your time.

The Verdict

Post by oka »

I had to remove my existing MF6, with system full clean including the registry good cleanup before installing MF6Plus. Still, I cannot fine the LabelFlash option with the "Plus" version.

I am kinda very frustrated after being told by you and the Ulead technician, to locate the LabelFlash button. Guess I should give up and try other applications.

Ron, thans for all your time in helping me locate this illusive option.

THE VERDICT

Post by oka »

I tried my possible best to find the LabelFlash in DVDFM6, but could not find it. All I could find are the followings:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\BITMAP\DPSService\DVDPrintModule\LightScibe.png

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\PS_LightScribe.dll

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Launcher\DEFAULT\Bitmap\LabelPrintBtn.png

I HAVE GIVEN UP ON USING DVDMF FOR LABEL PRINTING.

This is what I did that came out much, much, much better (for me).
I found and bought from OfficeMax a LightScribe DVD writer which came with Neero 8 Essentials and I bought LabelPrint 2 from Cyberlink.

With both the DVD (LabelFlash) that came with the system, and the new LightScribe DVD drive I bought,. when I open LabelPrint, I have both LightScribe and LabelFlash capabilities in the same sofware. LabelPrint2 comes out better.

However, LabelFash medias are more expensive, so I bought LightScribe medias to use.

So, I am now content with what I have now for label printing - no more paper labels anymore.

Thanks you all for all your help.
Seasons Greetings

UPDATE ON MY POST LAST MONTH ON THUR DEC 24, 2009 10:56 pm
About the LabelFlash (Cyberlink) software I mentined I purchased, well, I am getting my refund for some technical reasons. I will be using the regular Lightscribe/Labelflash softwares.

My reason are:
With the Labelflash (Cyberlink) software, when I did a print with the high contrast setting, the disk got written at the inside edge of the disk, when I tried it again, I had error and I had to toss the two expensive labelflash disk.

Update On LabelFlash Printing

Post by oka »

I finally can use MF6 for printing LabelFlash.

After opening the MF6 launcher and choosing the printer, I have to select the LabelFlash compartible drive to see the LabelFlash icon on the button of the opened dialog box.

Only issue now is that LabelOnce won't let me save a layout.

So far, I'm fine now. Thanks for all that gave me some help.
