pause not working /on clip

VS12,
When I play a clip of a stil picture, when I push the pause clip to pause it, it doesn't work, even if it is half way through the clip. Then I find it playing the clip again. Anyone else run into this?

The only thing similar I've had happen, is the clip replaying when I pressed the pause button. I think this was just a lag in the play button appearing. More like I double-clicked it. Anytime I press the pause, it will pause, and then resume from where it stopped, when I press play. I just ignore it..

Are you talking about in VS itself, when in clip or project mode (if so, which one?) or are you talking about after a video file or DVD has been created?

When I am editing in VS, and I select the clip mode.
I click play the clip, if I then push pause (ll) it will not stop.
but then will play the clip.

I kind of did what Ron said, and their is a quite a lag. Sometimes on double clicking it will pause after a few seconds.

But if you hit play in clip mode, then pause. It will not stop.

Hi Bruce

I¡¦m sure you will have done this...........have you manually updated Direct X.
There is an announcement at the top of this forum regarding Direct X.

This is a three part install:-
1 / Download the file
2 / Extract the files to a new folder.
3 / install the extracted files by running DXSETUP
