I've upgraded from several versions of VideoStudio and I really like the software although these are two bugs that really "bug" me.
1. When I try to select a QuickTrack sometimes all my owned tracks appear and sometimes they don't. For example I have "Good Times" library and the "All in Good Fun" music which has 4 variations. Sometimes I see all 4 and other times I either don't see the "All in Good Fun" library at all or don't see all of the variations.
I can fix this by exiting VideoStudio and restarting it.
2. When you create a DVD you can setup project settings and menus. When you close the DVD creation it says it's "saving" your settings but when I return it is missing some of the project setting changes I've made and all the DVD menu Titles are gone and I have to re-enter them.
For Example: Under Preferences I uncheck "VCD player compliant" and the next time I create the DVD this is checked again. I change the "My Title" on the menu to "Something Else" and the next time I get in it's back to "My Title". It does correctly save the chapter titles though.
Like I said this has been a problem since the earliest version of VideoStudio I bought. Any ideas?
Thanks.

After the "saving" it will take you back to the VS timeline. At that point go to File>Save As and save the project (i.e. Project Menu.vsp). Doing so will save your menu. We are not sure what the other "saving" does.![]()
Thanks.

I played around with this and it seems to work. Thanks for the tip Jeff.
Thanks, Pat

Quicktracks Solution?
Jeff (or anyone else),
Do you have a solution for my Quicktracks problem? I guess it's not a big problem to have to exit VS then get back in to see all my Quicktracks but it sure is a hassle.

This has been raised before and the answer is in fact simple.
Quicktracks can be thought of as lego bricks. Now with that in mind think of Some of these bricks being yellow - these are used for openings.
Some of this bricks are red - these are used as endings
Some bricks are white - these are middle bits.
All of the bricks, irrespective of colour are of varying length (duration).
You ask a smartsound enabled program ( Avid Liquid / CyberLink / Pinnacle / Roxio / Adobe Premiere / Corel (Ulead) ) to create some music of a particular length it will grab hold of a yellow brick, several white bricks and a red brick the total length (duration) of which adds up to the length you desire.
The longer the duration the more flexibility is offered to smartsound to create different variations, the smaller the duration the less flexible. This is the reason why sometimes you get offered several variations and at other times relatively few - perhaps even just one.
Regarding "Saving" your DVD Menus. Once again this has been brought up several times in the past. You have to ignore the automatic message that appears when you close VideoStudio "Saving....." no one here as yet worked out exactly what is being saved and is very misleading. Instead you must manually save the project (File | Save).
