Black Horizontal banding

Post by Mr B »

Hi all, I've a question re horizontal banding above and below a rendered (FLV) video.

The aspect ration which I use seems to make no difference in that when I utilise 'pan and fade'; the 'Ken Burns effect', I still have to leave an inordinate amount of 'headroom' both above and below a still image, otherwise the black banding creeps in. I make sure that I don't zoom outside of a picture, but as said, even allowing a greater margin at the edge still doesn't alleviate the issue of the banding appearing. As a consequence I'm losing 'a lot of picture' above and below an image.

Any suggestions/solutions from the forum experts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi

It may be the video frame size thats incorrect.
What are your project properties , are you using widescreen?

When you create the video you may have to alter the frame size.

Share Create Video File
Custom-Type Flash
Options
General Tab:-
Frame Size ¡V User Defined
640 x 360 will give you widescreen 16:9 ratio
Compression tab:-
920 kbps for standard quality

Edit Update
Go to Project Properties and turn off Non-Square Pixel Rendering, then try to create Flash again.

Thankyou both for your replies.
I've tried Trevor's last suggestion; turning off the non square pixel rendering. It seems to have improved matters!
Once again thankyou both for your help.
