Can you work with FLV videos in Video Studio X2 Pro?

Post by Hooterville »

Tried to open a couple and it says not supported.

Is there a trick to work with FLV in Video Studio X2 Pro?

Thanks.

VS only Exports/Creates FLV files, it does not support editing them. To edit FLV files, you need a Flash Authoring program that also supports Flash Video. About the only one that I'm aware of that does, is Adobe Flash.

However something that I just discovered is if you have a FLV player installed, you can right-click on an FLV file in your video library, and select Play Streaming Clip, and it will open your FLV player and play the FLV file..

Also noted is that VS will insert an FLV file into a Video Library, but it refuses to insert it to a video track, thus you can not edit them...

Most video converters including the freebies will convert an FLV to numerous formats that you can edit in VS. You can then if you wish export them back to FLV in VS via Share > Create Video File > FLV

Super seems to be one of the more favoured ones on this Forum, see here:

Hi
I had assumed that X2 was capable of editing flash flies, a little disappointed to find it will only convert to flash.

Try a program called Super a link from the forums Free Stuff

I¡¦ve been giving these a try, seem very good, not expensive

Why is "FLV" listed as a fule type in the Add Video dialog since importing seems not to work?
