VS12: FrameServer not working for 16:9 Project

Post by mtubesing »

I have used DebugMode Frameserver for earlier versions of VS so that I can encode using x264. I have the FrameServer software correctly installed in the vio folder and I can write the signpost AVI, but similar to this post:

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?t=36492

The output is distorted and it seems like VS thinks it should be rendering in 4:3 mode, even if I select a User Defined 16:9 resolution when I write the signpost AVI. Any thoughts or suggestions?

The other option is to encode using ffdshow, but that won't allow me to frameserve to AviSynth, which I normally do for some pre-encode filtering and cleanup.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forums, (belated at that)..

I've only used DebugMode's Wax and Wink, not the Frame Server. Due to the lack of replies, I suspect that we don't have any regulars that have.

Most of the time, even if you have the project settings to 16:9, if the actual video clip(s) are 4:3 VS will render using the aspect ratio of the video clip. Are you using Smart Render?

Have you inquired on DebugMode's Frame Server Google Groups ? Satish has migrated from using his forum to Google groups, for questions and discussions.
