Video Studio Pro X2 missing save Profiles.

Post by Hooterville »

Just purchased Video Studio Pro X2 for my home computer and all of the good save profiles are missing.

The one I use on my wife's computer has a bunch of save profiles like Ulead-WMV HD 1080 25 & 30, Ulead -WMV HD 720p NTSC Standard Quality, Windows Media 9 profiles ETC.

All these and more are not present on my computer.

I'm trying to save a project as a WMV and the only profiles I have are Windows Media 8 for like pocket PC's.

When I look through the different save options I have less than half of the profiles my wife has with the same Video Studio X2 program.

I installed all the bonus content and the update patch.

Please help me.

Thanks.

OK, but even when I go to Create Video File and choose WMV HD 720 30p the option at the bottom of the box is:

Windows Media Video
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 16:9, 20 fps
Frame-based
22.050 KHz, 16 bits, Stereo
Windows Media Video 8 for Color Pocket PCs (225 Kbps)

How do I change the Windows Media Video 8 for Color Pocket PCs (225 Kbps) to something better?

There is no way there to change it and even when I choose Custom there are weak save options available there.

I just know her computer has a ton of save options.

I'm new at this program so please bear with me.

Thanks.

Hi

Most of the WMV profiles are installed on the pc with Windows Media.
Have you updated your Windows Media to the latest version.

How do I check to see if I have the latest Windows Media version?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

I have the latest version of Windows Media Player.

I just need the WMV HD 720 and HD 1080 profiles.

How can I get them?

You lost me on the Select New to create your own template.

I don't see this option.

Thanks.

When you click "Options" It opens the "Video Save Options" Click "Profile"then "Customise" Then Click "New" You are then presented with the New Profile Window.

I still do not see "New" anywhere.

All I get is that same drop down list with the weak selections.

Hi

This may be related to Windows 7, unfortunately I use XP so cannot follow or simulate your conditions.
There is a Sticky Post at the top of this forum relating to W7

So your wife¡¦s computer, is that Windows 7, Vista or XP?

I suspect your computer, for whatever reason, does not have the (Microsoft) Windows Media Encoder 9 installed. I would have thought that the latest version was included in Windows 7 but I just don't know. However, the Encoder 9 series gives the sort of profile you are after.

Ken, I thank you so much.

You have made my day.

I downloaded the Microsoft Media Encoder 9 and now I have all the save options that my wife has on her computer.

I can't believe that file is an old one from 2003.

Thanks again.

Now if I could just figure out how to make my own HD templates I would be in Hog Heaven.

Yes, but it does not give info on making the templates just exporting after you have made one.

Thanks.

Let me give that video another look.
