Importing video from a new Panasonic camcorder

Post by RichardT »

We have just purchased a new Panasonic Camcorder at work, and although it has some s/w supplied with it I would like to be able to use VideoStudio to process files.
The problem is that the files that I have transferred to my PC are .MOD files.
Is there any way that I can load these into a VS project?

Regards

It depends what version of VS you are using. Since at least VS11 (and think also VS10) Video Studio has been able to handle .mod files natively. They are, after all, only mpeg-2 files in disguise. Only Panasonic, JVC and Canon have used the .mod format (with JVC being the only one to use its HD equivalent -- .tod).

Great Ken - Thanks.
I am using VS 8 at the moment at home, but I do have an SE version that I got with a Firewire card that I can use for work. I have tried it and it works fine.

Thanks

Richard
