Large AVI Output files

Post by JHill »

I have been using MSP 6.0 for some time and whenever I create an AVI file over 19 minutes long (4 gig), it always crashes and says there is not enough disk space (a lie).
I just installed the trial version 7.0 and it does not do this, but creates two AVI files, splitting at the 4 gig limit. This is OK, but it makes for a hard time to then upload the file to my DV camera.
Is there any way to overcome this? How can I get it to upload multiple files in one session? I now have to upload the files separately and make sure the camcorder is right at the right frame for continuing (and it always backs up about three frames when starting the new file).
Since this is the trial version, Ulead will not even talk to me; they just say everything I need to know is on the web site. Ha, ha! :(

What OS are you using?

What is the format of your hard drive? FAT or NTFS?

I am using Windows XP Pro, SP2, but I have seen the problem on Windows 2000, also. The HD is a 40 GB FAT32 drive.

If you convert the hard drive to NTFS you will no longer have the 4GB limit for file size.
