Buying new Corel Video Studio

Post by Ted. »

Hi there,

Can someone please advise me on this:

http://tinyurl.com/yd6g8q6

It looks too good to be true! Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Would this be the full version?

There's an actualisation version below, what does that mean?

I have a registered copy of Version 9 SE so a Download upgrade would be my choice.

Does anyone know if Corel has an email address? I can't find one. This offer ends this Monday.

Your link points to the UK site on my machine and the price is shown in British Pounds. When you first visit a Corel Site it normally asks you if you want to make that particular region your default when visiting Corel.

Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 Full - Box ¢G39.99
Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 Upgrade - Download ¢G29.99
Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 Upgrade - Box ¢G29.99
Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 Full - Download ¢G39.99

There are also French and Spanish versions available on the UK site.

Hi, sjj1805,

Many thanks for your reply,

I changed my region to UK to check your figures and now I can't get mine back. Selecting New Zealand opens a different page entirely now.

Well I have no idea how they work out the exchange rates, because that same site, in Australian dollars is nearly half the price if you apply the current exchange rate (A$1.00 = approx. Stg 0.55p) to the pound value. For example, the full box version is A$42.79 and the upgrade download $32.09...

Hi, Ken,

Yes the NZ Upgrade/Download price was shown as: $36.89 in NZ dollars. Looks too good to be true, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, I can't get back to that page now. The offer I'm getting is Video Studio Pro X2 plus DVD Movie Factory 7 plus Video Studio Wedding Theme Pack all for $109.00.

BTW are screenshots permitted on this forum?

Hi, sjj1805,

Unfortunately, CCleaner did its stuff this morning, so all my History will be history.

I had bookmarked the URL in FireFox and this was working perfectly until I changed the region to UK. Now I can revert to NZ but it won't save as default.

The .jpg file of the page I saved points to the bookmarked URL so there's not much point in attaching it.

Hi, sjj1805
Have you tried Internet Explorer?
Brilliant!

I copied and pasted the FF bookmarked Url into IE and I've now got the NZ page back. Many thanks!

Just got to decide now whether to take the risk and buy it.

Hi, Trevor,

I've downloaded, installed and registered it. Same as you, no problems at all with payment. Cost me $36.89 (NZ dollars). I'm rapt. Just uninstalled version 9SE so will check my configs. Thank you for your post.
