VisualStudio Pro x2: No audio from Blue Ray video

Post by PatBarr »

When I create a Blue Ray video file or dvd the audio doesn't play. Same project created as DVD works fine. I've tried different audio formats and no luck.

BlueRay video plays fine within VideoStudio. Any ideas?

Thanks, Pat

Could you please enlighten us about what the format is that is recorded on your Blu-Ray disc, and what you are trying to play it on? It doesn't really help when people say essentially "I have a file and it doesn't play..."

No Blueray Audio ond disk

Post by PatBarr »

I chose Blueray DVD on the Share tab. I use the same Project and Burn settings that I use on a standard DVD creation where the audio works fine. It seems to be a "bug" in VideoStudio or some setting I don't know about that applies to Blueray DVD creation.

I've done some testing and her are the results. My project has 5.1 audio option and project properties for surround sound.

1. DVD standard: it always changes my surround song to LPCM and I don't have an option for changing this.

2. DVD project settings: Surround sound works.

3. Blu-Ray: only LPCM. No Surround sound option. Under Project Settings and Make Movie Template Manager I don't have a Blu-Ray option.

Could I be missing a Blu-Ray template? Do I need to download this from the web site?

Hi Pat
Sorry i posted to your other one???????????

Ken Berry is probably your man. (and as you've found him)
There have been some problems with creating a template using DD 5.1,
I think Ken had a file that can be used to make the template.

And yes I would be interested in your project, not that I would be able to do much with it.
But for the sample, that would be good.

PowerDVD player updated but still doesn't work

Post by PatBarr »

I've upgraded to the latest version of PowerDVD and it plays Blu-Ray trailers with audio just fine. It still doesn't play the audio from VideoStudio Blu-ray video files.

I have VideoStudio Pro X2 with patch 1. Any ideas why there is no audio when playing these Blu-Ray video files?
