migrating transitions help
I recently noticed that there are some transitions in my Videostudio 9 that are not in my VS Pro X2. (i.e. more album transitions)
Is there a link/tutorial how to migrate them from 9 to Pro X2.
thanks in advance

No, because the album transitions are the most problematical (even if they are quite attractive!) A number of them caused constant problems from VS9 onwards for quite a lot of users, and when Vista was released, it was found that some of them never worked at all under that operating system. So some of them were simply dropped. The basic message in other words is: leave well enough alone...

it's a shame!
I remember using them a few times in the past. I'm sure you are correct about the problems with them. I'm using VS Pro X2 , windows XP.
When I try to use them, they don't preview at all. I'm not sure if they will work in the final render.
What a shame. I'm doing a short subject on a local library. The album transitions would be perfect!

There are still Album transitions in X2 -- just not the number/variety there were in the first versions which contained them. And some of the ones that *are* included in X2 will not work under Vista -- but since you are using XP, that should not be a problem. However, migrating the others from an earlier version has always been fraught with difficulties.
If you are not getting any Album transitions at all, that is another matter.

I recently downloaded a trial version of X2. I use Videostudio 8.0, which is an upgrade from 4.0. I use Windows XP.
In my trial version, no Album transitions are available. When I open up an old project that uses the Album transition, it defaults to a 3D Accordian transition. The Album transition isn't there at all. As you say, "that is another matter." Can you elborate? Is there anything I can do to get a working Album transition?
Thanks.

Re: migrating transitions help
So I finally downloaded the new X3 from Corel and installed with no issues but noticed there was only one Album Transition.
I figured that was because I had not purchased yet (Downloaded version was 13.6.0.367 BTW).
I played around and read the forum entries and decided to buy.
I like the boxed version so I purchaed from Corel and simply used the registration from the box and it all worked fine but still only one Album transition.
So then I did a complete uninstall and used the DVD from the box to install and still only 1 Album transition (DVD from box version is 13.6.0.272).
My X2 has 7 as Steve's screen shot above shows
Did we all loose 6 of them or is this one of those flakey things that I seem to remember Ken talking about where they returned after formating and re-loading Windows?
I also tried moving over the Album.vfx from X2 to X3 folder to no avail.
I like to use 2 or 3 of the Album transitions each year on my annual family DVD. Sad to see them go if they have.
