So that begs the question, why do they have audio files in two different folders?!

In one of the wish lists I suggested that there should be a common place for Audio files, DVD Menu files, Transitions, Sample video etc.
Then not only would they not be spread about - as mentioned above - but also instantly available to new versions whenever a new version is released, also shareable items would appear in other Corel Products.
such as DVD Menus for VideoStudio would be available to MovieFactory and vice versa without the need for the end user to do anything.

Hi
Video studioX2
There are further samples, audio, video , images here:-

C:\Program Files\Corel\VS-Installation BCD Files

Not sure if these are used by VS wizards? But can be imported to the library.
There are a few, 300 or so.

I've searched my system for those and I don't have a VS-Installation BCD Files folder. Do you have a boxed or ESD version?

Hi Ken
A bit more info:-

The 'VS-Installation BCD Files' came from the installation of the Bonus Pack

They contain sample Audio, Images and Video.

The audio files are sample sounds in 12 folders, Animals, cartoons, Electric, Gun, Etc

The Imge Folder seems to contain samples for VS, Frames, Objects,Theater Background etc.

"Click the music clef and that will open a dialogue where you can "Select a music track for this mennu" or Delete the music track for ths menu" Click on the first one and this will open your window with the other music tracks. Click on any one of them, then click "Open" and the new music clip will be in the box to the right of the music clef in the screenshot."
When I click on the "select a track option" My Music folder opens so how do I get the samples tracks to show instead.

Hi Ken

Sorry but only just noticed you are using VS11+ and I only have VS12. What folder opens when you choose "Select a music track for this menu"?
You said "so how do I get the other music track samples to show there". What is showing now?

Hi John/Ken

For X2 the default audio folder is here, C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 12\Content\Audio

For VS 10 the default folder is here :- C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\Content\Audio
I don't have VS 11 but I doubt if the location has changed.
I assume the default location for VS 11 will be here:- C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Content\Audio

Ken
After selecting the ¡¥Clef¡¦ Icon I see the option¡X¡¥select a music track for this menu¡¦
Having pressed this I see a new window, This is called the Open Audio File window.

If the audio I require is not showing I have to navigate my files to locate my audio stuff.
At the top I see the ¡¥look In option¡¦, I select the ¡¥drop down arrow¡¦ allowing me to navigate my filing system.
I locate the file I want, and select ¡¥Open¡¦
Now I see the new file name and location in the box adjacent to the ¡¥Clef¡¦ icon.

I can play the audio file, I see another icon, to the right, a square with what appears to be dots on it.
Floating my mouse reveals a tool tip, Set Audio Properties. I select this and a further window opens allowing me to Play the clip. I notice also that I can trim the audio file selecting the portion I wish to use.
Having finished I select OK, the window closes.

In the edit tab I see Motion Menu, this option will limit the audio to 20 seconds. (30 max)
As I want to play the audio fully I have to disable this option by removing the tick from the check box.

OK,
Think I have it now
When I "selected a music track for this menu" the
"open Audio File" window opened with My Music folder showing(this is what threw me).I then browsed via C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Content\Audio and was able to listen to and select the track of my choice. Thanks..............Ken

As long as you are happy with the track you found... But to sum up just about all of the preceding advice, you can choose whatever music you like from wherever it is stored on the computer, as long as it is in a format recognised by VS. You are not limited only to those tracks in the Corel/VS sub-folder(s)...

I realise what you are saying Ken and thanks for that.As I said earlier on
"I usually use my own music and browse for it successfully(he says with some qualified confidence)my actual problem was replacing a sample file that was already running" on page 1"
So now I am a little bit further up the learnig curve
