Paint Shop Pro EXPRESS won't install

Post by ghoofie »

I got a free d/l of Paintshop Pro 2010 Express with my purchase of VS x2, but it won't install. It gets to about 66 % finished with install, then hangs up. Corel support said I need to update my video driver (huh ?), which I did but it still hangs up, same spot. Anyone running Paint Shop Pro Express? Any similar experience ? Thanks.

Possibly a faulty download, if you still have the link try downloading it again.
If that does not work then try doing an installation using what is termed a clean installation of Windows.

On the [Start] Menu - Run type
MSCONFIG
now untick Load System Services
untick Load Startup Items
Make sure that use original boot configuration IS ticked.

Restart the computer and try and install the software again.
When you have finished you need to return the computer back to its normal state by reversing the above changes made to MSCONFIG

Well whatya know...I redownloaded the install program..and this time it worked... guess it was a bad file downloaded the first...OR..the one thing I did change was the settings on my display..I previously used a lower setting since the eyes aren't what they used to be..the bigger letters easier to read..I noticed in the system requirements, it was a higher setting. I set my display at 1280 x 1064 and the install worked. Not sure if the video setting would have stopped the install...I tend to think it was a bad install file first time around.
