I guess this is also true for HD slideshows. By the way, those are the only ones I intend to make. In fact that's why I got VS X2 Pro. I still use MSP 8 for video.trevor andrew wrote:
Rendering to DV-Avi then to Mpeg2 DVD seems to produce better results, rather than directly to Mpeg 2.
For the test AVCHD hybrid disk I used 2520x1417, or something like that. They are not all inentical, since the camera produces 3:2 pictures, so I cut out a 16:9 piece. For the final slideshow I will probably use some more pixels, keeping the 16:9 ratio intact.Working in widescreen my images are 2048 x 1152 having been edited in Photoshop.
This is 16:9 ratio and fills the screen.
What is the size of your images?
That's what I did not during the test, but intend to do from now on.I have started using Frame Based where my shows are purely images (No Video)
Thank you for the very nice 'Quick User Guide'!
Yes, you are right, but so was the AUXDATA folder that spoiled my AVCHD disc.michell65 wrote: No it is empty anyway!

Do you also batch resize to 1920x1080 for your AVCHD slideshows? Is this the reason for the 'huge improvement' or the fact that you create HD then?erdna wrote:I used to make a lot of SD PAL DVD slide shows. For less jaggies I first batch rezized my .jpg images to 720x576 instead of letting the editor to resize to the 720x576 PAL resolution. I experienced a huge improvement by creating AVCHD slideshows.

Hi erdna
I have had problems in the past with Jpeg images saved as ¡¥Progressive¡¦
VS just didn¡¦t like them, although I must say X2 seems ok with them.
When I save as Baseline things went smoothly, and that¡¦s what I use now.
Interested to know if your originals are Progressive, and subsequently batch converts to Baseline.

I used PSP Photo XI with the JPEG 'progessive' setting to save my 16:9 cut out and VS X2 did not accept them. Had to redo everything with standard settings (High Quality).
