adding slideshow - dvd movie factory

Post by jaimielyel »

Hi There

This is my 1st post and hope there is somone out there who can help me! I have been using DVD movie factory 6 for a while and find it suits my purposes well.

However i find myself stuck on what may be a simple issue. I have created a slideshow from the launcher using new slideshow project. I have added all the sound clips etc that I need and am happy with the slideshow. I now want to create a DVD with the slideshow on it, but want to add some videos to the DVD. When I go to the launcher to create a video project, I cant add the already existing slide show. It will let me create a new one, but I want to use my existing - any ideas.

I am happy with the actual creation of the dvd etc, but just cant seem to add an existing slide show.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums,

DVD MovieFactory's primary function is authoring DVDs. It does provide some very limited editing functions. Sadly it does not allow mixing slide-shows with video. You would need a more robust program like VideoStudio, that allows creating these from scratch. With programs like VideoStudio you can add photos to your video production.

DVD MF treats videos and slide-show videos as separate titles. A title being a clip in your timeline.

adding slideshow

Post by jaimielyel »

Hi

Thanks for your reply.
I have in the past mixed slideshows and videos using the software, however that's when I chose the new video project from the launcher, I can then create a DVD with a menu that lets you watch both the vieeos and slideshows.

However this time I just opened new slideshow project, and cant get the slideshow into a new video project. Does that make sense? Do you know if its possible to save the slideshow as an mpeg or avi or something, i can then import it into a new video project as a video.

regards

Finally to clarify... Are you wanting to add the video to the actual DVD, or your DVD project? Once the DVD is burnt, it is finalized, and nothing more can be added to it. If you still have the project file, you should be able to open it, and add video clips, (again these will be treated as separate titles/clips) to your slide-show project, by choosing add video files.

Now if you wanted to add photos to your video, you can click on the Edit Room and once in the Edit Room, click on the Folder icon located to the top-left of the timeline, and select Import Image. The images will be added to your video clip title. The downside is you can not just add your existing slide-show to it.

Hi thanks for your help.

The problem is I want to add the existing slideshow to a DVD project, I have no problem adding photos or videos to dvd project, what i want to add to it is the existing slideshow I have already created as it has all the sound effect already embedded in the slideshow.

However as I created this from the launcher as a new slideshow project, I take it then that I cant add the existing slideshow to a new DVD project and will have to start again by adding the photos and attaching the sound effects again to create the slidshow once more.

Thanks anyway.
