Can't copy/paste on timeline in VS X2

Post by Mike Warren »

Am I missing something? I can't get VSPro X2 to copy and then paste to another place on the timeline. I seem to recall (I could be wrong) being able to do this a few years ago. It was a great help!
Regards,

Mike

You can also drag a clip from one place to another. If it is far to go that is sometimes cumbersome. Then you can drag the clip to the library, move along the timeline to where you want to insert it, then drag the clip from the library back to the timeline.

Jeff -- sorry, I deleted my post (saying you could use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste) because I tested it with X2 after writing it, and found it did not in fact work! It works in the library window (as indeed does the right clicking of the mouse), but not in the timeline... And if you copy a clip in the timeline (with either a right click Copy or Ctrl+C) and try to right click Paste, there is no reaction until the mouse pointer is in the Library window, when the paste becomes possible. Or if you use Ctrl+V with a clip copied from the timeline, the paste only occurs in the library window, and again not in the timeline...

Hmmm. How strange to remove what I would think is a fairly commonly used feature.

It is in fact true that copy and paste on the timeline is not a feature, see my private writings.

I have to admit that while I never attempted you use copy/paste, I always thought it was an available feature.
