I've been using VS since version 7 and love the program.
Never had any problems with it on this machine until now.
Recently, I started doing more advanced work with it such as 1 or 2 overlay tracks with a lot of previewing during editing. I use SD files, No HD processing required.(smart proxy is OFF) I'm working with clips that are 2-3 hrs long.
90% of the time now it crashes on exit with a "herdocdll.dll" error.
I save my work before exiting and it prompts me to "restore lost project" when I reopen the program. I haven't lost any work so far.
Anyone have any experience or cures for this?
thank you in advance

I think the usual method is to just ignore this although I haven't experienced it myself. The fact that you save before exiting is the main thing. No doubt one of our experts will come to your aid but I'm sure this has happened to others without causing probs.

I have the crashing at exit once in a while, although I have never seen that error message.
Since I saved my project I ignore the offer to restore the project.
