I'm using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus to create video dvd's.
My choice for video is Edius (sorry Corel!) ... my question: how does this v7 sold with Edius compare to v6 Plus?
Corel DVD MovieFactory v7 for Edius 5
Edius ships with DVD Movie Factory 5 se. It is located on the Bonus Content CD and is listed as Corel Ulead DVD MovieWriter. On the Grass Valley website in the registered users download area there is a link to download DVD Movie Factory 7. When installing this particular version it requires that you have your Grass Valley Bonus Content CD ready to be read for verification. It will not except any other disk or previous installation as verification.
Those that had version 6 Plus and thought they where upgrading when they installed version 7, actually took a step backward. Only version 7 Pro is actually a step forward. Installing version 7 on system that also have version 6 Plus has caused some real problems.
So I recommend keeping it simple. Run 6 Plus or 7 Pro. Do not install a version with lesser features (v7) over a another version (6Plus) just because the version number is higher. Best to run just one instance on a system.

Aha now I get it - you are talking about SE versions. These are not the full ticket but are "Simple Editions" or if you prefer "Stripped down Editions".Hi-Def wrote:Edius ships with DVD Movie Factory 5 se. .....
Corel do not have an off the shelf "SE" version, these are versions which have been modified by third party vendors and supplied with an item of hardware such as a scanner, camcorder, mobile phone or the cover disc of a computer magazine. This probably explains why you had different features in the different versions.
Yes, but the version 7 that they are allowing Edius users to download is the full version 7, not SE. It is not 7 Pro but just 7.sjj1805 wrote:Aha now I get it - you are talking about SE versions.
