Producing a movie clip of a map with a moving route marker
To go with my recent trip around New Zealand and the movie to come , I had thought of somehow producing some clips showing a map of different areas of the country with a moving route marker.
Has anyone any bright ideas how this could be achieved ?

Hi Terry
this is a link to the VS post with the program, it's in French but I managed to get it working without too much of a problem.

Its called ITIN, it's a free software if you do a search on Google you will find it.

Many , many thanks for all your input.
I got back from my 5 week visit to Australia & New Zealand ONE week ago and posted TWO questions on TUESDAY. Today I have complete answers to BOTH of them.
I said in my vote of thanks for the other question , what would we do without this forum ?
Brilliant !
Thanks again to everyone for their input.
Best regards
Terry Dennis

Guess I will have to see about buying it ! Maybe I can try it first to see what it's like.
Download the trial version and you should be able to produce the map that you want and save it as a separate file. Then import it to your VS11.

I think mitchell may be talking about the trial version of X2 which makes these things much simpler...
As for NZ, I can't help myself at this point but announce that I love the place. I was just there myself a little over a week ago, for about my 12th visit, but this time I decided I could live there, and so I bought a house. Little town called Levin, 100 km north of the capital, Wellington. I will move there in June next year...

Video Studio X2 that's the one with the "Painting Creator". The icon is the last one in the line of icons that strt with the storyboard and timeline icons. It has a small brush across a filmstrip. The tutorial I mentioned in an earlier post is very good.
