MPEG4 Creation

Post by nycboyga »

I have a question of great importance to me. I bought 2 Mustek products, a 4 MP camera and a PVR-A1. They both came with Ulead software VideoStudio. The CD states that RealPlayer, QuickTime, and other media creation software is included. In all of the literature and advertisements it says the same. However when I choose to install QuickTime Pro (for MPEG4 creation) it asks for a registration key. I don't seem to find any. Does anyone know where I would find it? Please help because I've been trying to make home videos with my camera and convert a couple of DVD's into MPEG4 files so that I can take them with me and view them on my PVR. Thank you in advance for any answers.

If you look at the small print somewhere, it makes it clear that if you don't have a registration key for Quicktime, just click Next or whatever it is on the installation program, and it installs anyway! I remember a long time ago coming to a stop too for the same reason as you, but when I looked more closely, I found the above solution...Good luck. (You can also download the free Quicktime 6 player -- the latest version -- from the Quicktime website. It will certainly be more up to date than the version on the disc you have...)

there's a difference between QuickTime and QuickTime Pro: QuickTime is free, QuickTime Pro is not.

Quicktime becomes QuickTime Pro when you enter the Serial Number (hence what you purchase is a serial number).

what was included with your Mustek product was probably just QuickTime, which allows you to play the.mp4 recorded by your Mustek product...

Quicktime conversion/ WMP and editing programs?

Post by rossdog »

Hi!

I have a Kodak camera that apparently shoots .mov files which only play in Quicktime. I did not know this when I bought it and I am a Windows Media Player/ Windows user. I am looking for a program (or programs) which will convert my .mov files to .mpegs or whatever can be played in good resolution in WMP. Not only that I would like to get a good editing program.

Do you or any related posters have any recommendations? Will Quicktime Pro work in Windows and can it help me not only convert but edit like Windows Movie Maker - and send condensed versions (like for e-mail attachments?) Appreciate any input as a new member. I have not yet bought a ULEAD program.

Thanks!

Ross
