VS X2 Overlays tend to diminish quality of original video

Post by mfvideos »

Is it just me, or does it seem that the more VS overlays you use, the blurrier your main video gets, even in the parts that should not be obscured by the overlays.. for instance, when you use VS Overlays of say, a post card, or a theater curtain, frames, etc.

If you are assessing this by looking at the preview screen then remember that that's exactly what it is, a Preiew Screen. It does not reflect the quality of the finished product. The preview screen needs to render the video for previewing "on the fly" so quality will never be that good. If in doubt make a trial DVD of the half finished project just to check the quality.

I use overlays all the time and have not noticed this.

If in doubt make a trial DVD of the half finished project just to check the quality.
Or simply change your Playback qualities from Instant to High Quality (in Preferences). Doing so will render a high quality preview that you view within VS.

This is another good reason to render a video before you go to the
[Share Tab] [Create Disc] screen. You get to check it out first using your favourite video player
Windows Media Player / WinDVD / PowerDVD / Nero Show time etc.
