images disappeared after inserting description!!!!

Post by painterskip »

Help!

I had my wife go through a folder of about 90 images I had scanned from our daughters day care. I needed her to insert an image description for each one so that I could put them in a certain order. I told her to use the 'control D' command to bring up that window. After doing a few images, all of the tumbnails in that folder turned black and have now been rendered useless, it appears. It looks like the only thing left of what once was 900k image files is a black box with text in it....each one now about 10k. And nothing shows up if I try to view it in the viewer window and if I try to edit with Photoshop, it says that it can't open the files because an 'unexpected end-of-file was encountered'.

Any ideas? Have we lost all of these images? And if so....why? What happened?

Please help.....

Thanks in advance....

I cannot help you but I have the same problem (only with TIFF-files).

I asked the Ulead supportcenter (several months ago) and was told that something was wrong with my PC. Since I have got a new PC but the problem still exists.

So now I am looking for a better solution!

I think this is something you might want to discuss with Ulead Tech support already. You can contact them through:

This happened to me once again but this time I was smart and did a test first....

As someone before me mentioned, it only happens with tiff files. But I've discovered that if you convert an image to tiff format within Pex, it doesn't happen.

All the files I lost due to this bug were originally saved as tiffs within Photoshop.

Still.....I would NOT trust this program on originals.
