Sound Problem.

Post by Ted. »

Hi,

Using Ulead Video Studio 9 I created a 1gb video file from a home DVD. I loaded the file to edit it and have no sound, although the video is fine. The file plays okay on WMP with sound and plays okay in my MSI editor, also with sound, but I would prefer to use Ulead. Why should this be?

Hi, sjj1805

Would it be Dolby Digital by any chance?

I think that's what was shown in the audio box when I was ripping it.

Not at home right now but it was around about version 9 that the Dolby Decoder was built into VideoStudio, earlier versions needed a plug in.
If you have a SE version then it definitely does not support Dolby.

Hi again, sjj1805

Thank you again. I converted the ripped file with my Oxelon converter and Video Studio 9 will now play the audio. It's a slow process, but it works. Can I get a plug-in for this now as it is an SE version?

No. As Steve has stated you cannot get any plug-ins, updates, patches, etc. for SE versions, as they are sample or limited editions usually supplied with a piece of hardware.

So your options are to continue to convert your files or upgrade your VS, as it does now support Dolby audio (the full version of VS, that is).
