Problem updating ULead Studio 10
I installed ULead Video 10 that came with my USB EasyCAP video adapter. I then got the updates for the VISTA OS. The problem is that when I go to install it, a message comes up saying that ULead Video10 must be installed first. I have uninstalled and re-installed many times and it still doesn't reconize the original version. I have used CCleaner to clean the registry and all Microsoft updates are current. I have searched extensively on this site, Googled it etc. and haven't had any luck. I switched from Pinnacle because it was giving me nothing but grief with it. I hope someone here has an answer. Thanks in advance.
The updates might not work with your "free" SE version.
Did you just now buy the EasyCap device? Do they claim it works with Vista? VS10 is a few years old now....
...This could be a BIG problem if EazyCap doesn't already work with Vista. First, you need EasyCap drivers that work with Vista. Then, you need software that runs on Visa and works with the EasyCap dirvers. (The current version of Video Studio runs on Vista, but I'm not sure if it works with the EasyCap drivers.)

in answer to questions
Yes I recently bought the EasyCap and it says it will work with VISTA. But I haven't been able to test it because of the initial problem with ULead 10. The updates are available to make it VISTA compliant.

You need to ask the manufacturers of "EasyCap" for any available updates to THEIR version of VideoStudio. Unfortunately it is not the same version sold by Corel but one that has been tweaked by "EasyCap" and also it is what is termed a SE (Simple Edition) therefore any updates release by Corel do not work.
