MF6plus stopped burning from .ixb files

Post by lathompson »

My hardware profile is in my personal profile.

I just loaded MF6plus on this new ASUS machine with a 64bit Win VISTA OS. MF has been doing fine at editing small captures. In a new project, I copied 10 DVDs (produced on another system, to .ixb files so I could begin multiple duplications later. Once copied to the HD, I proceeded to produce 3 DVDs of each of them. After the program successfully completed sets on the first two .ixb files, I began the next set but as soon as the procedure started, I got a popup that read "unspecified error". This popup had a title of: Ulead burn.now. This results in a disc that is not written and it is reusable on other machines elsewhere. After reboots and lots of maintenence, the errors went another direction.

The 2nd problem: Instead of getting the popup above, I get a progress bar saying "recording disc... and it appears as though everything is burning normally, however at the end of the "recording" process, a popup named "burn from disc image" reads: Failed to burn data onto the disc. I then close MF and then get a Windows popup with a large subtitle: Ulead DVD MovieFActory has stopped working.... followed by a message saying: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program.... etc.

Now, strangely, when I remove the disc from the burner that supposedly did not burn right, it has actually been burned and when I take it to several freestanding players around my office, it plays!! Not on all of them, so I don't know if it is finalized or not.

Nothing I do makes this problem go away. I uninstalled MF6 and reinstalled it. I have tried without my firewall, with virus protection off, I've rebooted several times and made sure no other programing was running. I've disconnected power overnight.... Nothing gets me back to where the program performed properly on those first two discs I duplicated.

Is other software interferring? I have:
Cyberlink PowerDirector for editing videos.
Pixila ImageMixer 3 for working with HD videos.
TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress to convert HD videos

Any suggestions?

Rather than authoring to an IXB file try authoring to a hard drive folder, then burn a Video DVD of the hard drive folder.
If you are still having problems then please view
DVD Burning / Playback issues - I would check your firmware.
