Ridiculous error messages

Post by hhatkin »

Two samples of messages received when DVDF4 decides to stop working:

"u dead"
"convert step got some problems!"

what sort of gibberish is this, and who is responsible for it?

These are even better than mine! I've gotten "!" and "Key Error" as well.

A lack of decent English is common in Ulead products, I think they are all written in Taiwan. The 'convert step got some problems' is discussed in many other posts, use the Search facility.

I did, and it certainly is! Thank you.
The simplest suggestion for a cure that I came across is to remove transitions.
Well, that certainly has an effect:
The idiotic message appears instantly instead of first doing 30 seconds or so of processing as it did with transitions present!
Has anyone any better ideas, and are there "patches" available which might work?

To be fair to Ulead, they have now replied to my protest about the idiotic language in the error messages and they agree that it is unacceptable and needs to be changed. Their suggestion as to avoiding the error messages appearing is to remove all relevant files and do a complete uninstall and reinstall.
