All works fine on my little puter... :-)
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS, I didn't have to do anything special to install Video Studio X2. Just installed it normally by selecting setup program. I don't know why your computer won't run X2 without VMware.

Possibly a faulty download or installation.
Try downloading it again.
