Hi Ken
Create new folders on your hard drive, one for each disc.
Import the DVD,s to Video Studio using Insert DVD/DVD-VR... option
You may be best to use a separate project for each.
Post the video properties to the forum, along with the length of each video.
Knowing the length of the videos will help in selecting the bit rate.
By rendering the videos to 4000 Kbps will allow for 2 hours per standard disc.
So make a template using Make Movie Manager using the Add option to add your video file.
Then edit the template to change only the bit rate. Using this as the create video file template.
If the audio is NTSC then edit that to Mpeg2 audio or Digital Dolby.
You can fit 4.3 Gb of video onto each disc, so that¡¦s the total target file sizes.
If you have a Duel Layer burner and disc¡¦s then you can double that limit.

Hi Ken
You have about 220 minutes of video.
You will need two standard DVD¡¦s
If you wished edited each, removing the unwanted frames and maybe adding a title.
Using Make Movie Manager using the Add option to add one of your video file.
Giving the template a name, this will create a template to the original properties.
Now edit the properties in make movie manager , changing the bit rate from 7000 to 4000kbps
Change the audio to Mpeg 2 Audio or to Digital Dolby¡¦
Now Share Create Video File using your template, will create a smaller file sized video files.
One for each.
Start a new project, Share Create Disc,, Add Video( first 5) ---burn your discs.
Option / 2
If you do not want or need to edit and you intend to burn a disc you will still have to reduce the file sizes.
You can either use Batch Convert to reduce the file sizes, you have to manually set the conversion properties.
Or
Go directly to Share Create Disc, add 5 videos, Change the Conversion properties under the options cogwheel.
Same settings as for Make Movie manager.
Your template should be similar to:-
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Upper Field First (check this against the original??????????)
(DVD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: 4000 kbps
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R) OR MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

Multi DVDs onto 1
Thanks for the help Trevor,
Re o make a template using Make Movie Manager using the Add option to add your video file.? I made a template but could not get the add option to work. (or find out how to work it)I trimmed the ends of each DVD in their own projects each of which I made the properties 4000kbps,upper field first, stereo,Dolby Dig audio at 256.
I then put the first 5 DVD projects into another project so that they were altogether and to make sure they kept in the Right order(not sure if this was necessary or not)I made that project props the sameThen went to Share (via a new empty project), Create Disc, add video and added the 5 film project.I then adjusted the settings to match the original project settings via the cog wheel.
After doing that things went along fairly quickly in the burn module. When I got to this stage with the second lot of DVD projects it took several times longer at the start of the burn process.I am sure I followed the same work flow.Previously you have mentioned to look out for onvert title?or onvert menu?at the start of the burn process, could I have done something to make the rong?words show?
Anyway it was upper field 1st and I ended with about 1 hour 40 mins of
Video on each DVD , so I got there in the end .............Ken

Hi Ken
Glad you managed to fit the videos to disc, I am a little confused on the workflow you used, but it was successful in the end, and thats all that counts really.
Notes on Make Movie manager...........
Read my guide to Make Movie Manager, the right hand panels show the Add process.
http://lata.me.uk/video_studio/manager/manager.htm
When you get to the last image on the guide hit the ¡¥edit¡¦ button and change the bit rate to 4000.
