Menu-End to Movie-Start Timing

Post by montgal55 »

Hello Everyone:

(This may not be possible. . . )

Is there a way to adjust the timing between when the start button on a menu is pressed to when the movie actually starts in MFPro7?

I tested a finished burning project on a DVD player and noticed there is a lag time before the movie begins.

 It may be minor, but it is freaking a few people out I am burning projects for. They thing the movie will not play waiting so long for it to come on screen

Any thoughts . . .

If it varies from dvd player to dvd player on the time taken, I suspect it is a compatibility problem with the disc/burn/player.
Normally you'd click play and it'd start almost immediately.

How do you find it?
How does it work in a pc?

Hello Graham:

You are right. Usually, when you press a start button on a menu, the movie starts immediately.

You may also be right about compatibility issues with DVD/CD burners and DVD players. Although there is no test (not to my knowledge) to see whether a burner and DVD player have compatibility issues. I also played the DVD in two computers with Windows Media Player v11, and the same thing happened ---- lag-time in the start of the movie.

To be sure, all of my projects do play on DVD players. It is just that particular issue :x irks me a little.

I should also tell you that these were motion menus. This could be the factor in the movie file waiting for the menu to complete its cycle. (it's just a theory).

Maybe what Corel needs to do in their next upgrade is investigate the issue of movies starting immediately after start button is pushed. Maybe they develop a program string to eliminate ¡§lag-times¡¨ in movie starts.
