Importing Library from 11 to Video Studio X2

Post by konmanos »

What is the correct way for importing the libraries in Ulead 11 to Video Studio X2. I assume that an installation of Video Studio X2 in a new directory was the correct way? I performed an u/grade (purchased the u/grade) and it installed in a completely new directory... Thanks in advance.

Much appreciated - that is exactly what I was looking for...
Once again - you guys - are on top of the support chain...

Can I ask 1 more question - is it then safe to Uninstall the previous version - from the computer - does it (x2) have any links to serial numbers etc? to the old version

While it's not required to uninstall earlier versions, it is safe to do so. Each version is a stand-alone application, with one exception. That is they do use some common files. Most of the time there are not any issues created when uninstalling older versions. However sometimes the older version may take a common file with it when uninstalled. If that happens, doing a repair install should fix it.

If you purchased an upgrade, make sure that you keep a record of your serial number of the older version. If you should need to reinstall VS X2, it will ask for that serial number. Might also be a good idea to make sure you have the install files for the older versions backed-up to external storage media, or somewhere on your system.

Thanks for the reply - when you say - keep the serial numbers - I have been registered with Corel and when I access my account profile - I am able to see all of the serials that I have and purchase dates - is this not good enough? Best to keep my own version of the serials as well?

Anyway - I uninstalled the Ulead Version 11 - after reading and acknowledging what you said above. Please note that when I installed the u/grade (x2) I installed in a different directory. When I un-installed Ulead Version 11 - I then rebooted and found my new Ulead Version X2 - is working fine - starts up fine and basic navigation... Will not know if there are any issues with the real guts of the application - I will know in the coming weeks and I will post my findings... Thanks again..
