VS X2 UnCut Video Clips

Post by tt2ride »

Hello!

What is the proper way to uncut video clips? Without using "Undo".
E.g. After I made multiple cuts to a video file but decided to undo some only.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Tom

When you make a cut you are creating two virtual clips, each being a part of the full clip.
Cut again and you have made three.
Notice the blue bar below the preview screen, this indicates the virtual cut clip, select another clip, watch the bar. By dragging the Trim Handles (Black Triangles) you can resize the clip.
Using the Mark-In Mark ¡VOut brackets [ or ] will adjust these triangles and the clip length/ends

For accuracy adjust the positions using the digital clock, then hit the [ or ] -----Make sure your in clip mode.

Test the trimming effects using a clip in the library, works very much the same.

Any cut clip can be reverted to the full clip by selecting the first and last frame and using [ and ]
Use the Home and End buttons to navigate to the ends.

Please note:-
You must be in Clip Playback mode
You will have some problems if Ripple Editing is used.
If you end up with a red line above the timeline then you have applied the trim in Project playback mode.

Thanks Trevor! There seems to be so many ways to adjust the timeline and can be confusing :) I didn't know you can use Home and End keys to navigate. Another new finding.
I also checked out your web site on VS settings. Thanks!
