VS6 / Unable to encode video

Post by techserv »

I get this error message occasionally when I am trying to create the video file. I will start the rendering process and when it gets to 100%, it spits out an error message "Failed to encode video - 2001:1:1". Does anyone have an idea what this is indicating?

This usually happens when I am trying to combine two videos, meaning I import in about an hour from one video and a half hour from another video. All together the video is about an hour and a half.

I'm not sure what information you all might need to help me. I am still a newbie at this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!

And there's no problem with the individual videos, i.e. you have the codecs used by each of them? Have you applied any patches available from Ulead?

I recorded both videos using a Canon ZR50 digital video camrea using MiniDV tapes. I recorded the event using two different tapes because I was running out of room on the first one.

I'm not sure what codecs were used. I just used the default setting that is on the camera and uploaded them to my computer like normal.

Like I said on my first post, this only happens when I am trying to combine two videos. When I am only using one video, the software works just fine.
