Hello,
I downloaded the VS X2 trial from the Corel site. It seems to work great for my needs. However, the icon and program interface all say VideoStudio12.
1. Are VideoStudio 12 and VideoStudio X2 the same thing?
2. If so, will it say X2 once i buy a license, or what?
3. If they are not the same, do i need to download the *real* X2 when i purchase a license? Confusing.
The trial version only has like 3 audio clips and other features *seem* to be limited. I am concerned about purchasing a License and ending up with less than what would come with the boxed version.
4. Can i assume that once i purchase a license and enter the serial number, the additional audio clips become available and other features will then work?
5. Is there any benefit in purchasing the boxed version (other than the box and disc inside? That is, is the content in the boxed version identical to the download version?
Thank you in advanced for your answers.
Kind Regards,
chris

Hi zac51 I'll try and answer all you questions.
Think of 'X' as the roman number meaning '10'. X2 therefore becomes a 12.
When you upgrade from the trial to the purchased version you will be sent links via e-mail for the extra contents (more transitions, features, music, help files and smartsounds etc). The trial version is the minimum amount of files to give you a taste of the product.
There is no difference between the package version to the download version other than the need to download the extracontents.

There is one other difference. Several of us here have the Ultimate version of X2/VS12. That appears to have a slightly different version numbering system. But the significant difference is that the download version of X2 Ultimate comes with a Repair function, whereas the X2 Pro and vanilla download versions, if I am not mistaken, do not. That only comes in the boxed version of those two versions. The Repair function can be important in that it may correct certain faults without having to do a full uninstall/reinstall which you would have to do with X2 Pro/vanilla if you meet a problem.
Unfortunately, Corel in their wisdom for some reason or other have not made X2 Ultimate available for sale in the US or North America...
