Efficient use of DVD-R or DVD/RW

Post by Banji Abereoje »

Hi ALL

Is there a way to burn more video to already burnt DVD/-R or DVD/RW that has not reached its capacity without wiping the existing video inside? This is because I made a video of just 20mins into a DVD and now wanted to add another 30mins video to the same disc. I’m using VS8 & 10.

Thanks in adv.

I doubt very much if this can be done. Unless the program "sees" an empty disc it will ask either to erase the content or to put an empty disc into the writer.

Briefly..... NO.
Once created a Video DVD is a completed entity that cannot be edited, added to or things removed. If you want to create a "Preview" of your intended "DVD" then burn it to a hard drive folder and view it with a software DVD player such as WinDVD / PowerDVD / Nero Show time etc.

If you are happy with it then you can burn those DVD folders to a Video DVD disc using your favourite burning software such as Nero / CopytoDVD etc.

If you want to make changes then it depends upon what it is you wish to alter. should it be the structure you can edit the VideoStudio Project and recompile the DVD. If it is navigational then you can use programs such as
MenuEdit
or
PGCEdit
