Naming Clips in VS12

Post by mitchell65 »

EDIT
Think I solved it
Second Edit
No got it wrong again. When I open a new project and go to Share. Import a VSP file that contains four video clips, I only get the first clip to show on the menu. How can I get the other clips to appear on the menu without making them Chapters. Must I save and name each clip in the video and then import them idividually in the menu process.

In effect, yes. If you are inserting a VSP file in the burning timeline, VS only sees one file, not the four clips that are in it... So either you produce four DVD-compatible mpeg-2's of the 4 edited clips and use those, or else edit the originals individually, save their project files and insert the 4 project files in the burning timeline...

(Mind you, as you probably realise by now, our recommended workflow is usually to produce a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 and insert those in the burning module, rather than VSP files. One of the reasons -- though not the important one -- is to avoid precisely the sort of thing you are experiencing...!  )

Thanks Ken. As you say I use a mpeg-2 to insert to the burning timeline. Will follow your advice.
