In selecting Add/Edit chapters then auto add by scene selections: VideoStudio 12.0 stop functionning.
I have installed Video Studio on a different Vista machine and the same problem occurs.
In using Video 10 or 11; there is no problem.

VS stop functionning when creating a menu

I don't know why there is a difference with VS12, but these kinds of problems usually have something to do with your original video file or format. The "more advanced", more highly-compressed, formats tend to cause the most trouble.
What format do you have, and where did it come from? What are you trying to do with the finished video? (Are you making a DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.?)
Depending on your original format and your target format, you may need to convert the file before editing. You may be able to do the conversion with Video Studio, or you may need a 3rd-party program.
Or, maybe the best solution is to simply use VS10 or VS11 with these particular files.

You may also want to update your DirectX -- the latest patch address can be found in the Announcement at the very top of this forum. Keeping DirectX updated seems to correct a lot of faults that creep into the VS burning module, possible as a result of successive Windows updates creating conflicts. Note that DirectX is not part of the regular, automatic Windows updates. You have to do it manually. And the patch works for both XP and Vista (but not Windows 7).
