Hi all,
In order to introduce subtitles in my movies, I switched from DMF5 to DMF6 Plus and installed the relevant updates. I made the subtiltle file with SubMagic and this srt-file is fine with 2 titles of only 2 seconds, fully synchronized. However I can not find the reason why DMF6 doesn¡¦t accept these titles in the way it should.
In my first attempt I did not add a theme so I did not use the edit-room. I added the srt-file and started preview. The first title popped up exactly where it had to appear and lasted ¡§his 2 seconds¡¨. Also the second titled appeared at the right moment, however did not disappear within the ¡§his 2 seconds¡¨. It did not even disappear untill the end of the film. Only pause and restart on a place after it¡¦s timesetting made this subtitle not appear again.
Trying to find a way out, I considered that the Edit Room might be a condition for proper functioning of the subtitling feature. So I added a theme, selected the shift-setting and added the srt-file. All my problems seemed to be solved and the previewe gave exactly the result I was looking for so burning on a DVD+RW was started. Result......... no subtitles!
I¡¦ve 2 questions and the first question is whether it is a must to choose a theme in the edit room when adding of subtitles is wanted? Is this the normal behaviour of DMF6 Plus?
My second question of course is whether anyone can help me with the phenomena that the subtitles are perfect in the preview but don¡¦t appear at all on the disc. Hope somebody can justify my change from DMF5 to DMF6 Plus. Thanks in advance for your help,
