Thanks for your help Jeff and the kind comments. But I still think there is something different with these newer files. If your connection is playing them fine with out a skip you must have a good connection. The tell tale sign would be if you went to play one and the light colored progress bar reaches the end, and the video is still in the middle, and if when the other played the progress bar stayed only an inch or two in front of the play position indicator. If I watch a bunch of videos usually the progress bar will make it to the other side before the play slider, but in the case of these new videos the progress bar will always get caught at the half way point.
I am going to ask on the you tube forum and see if I get any kind of answer for this. I have checked my internet connection and it appears to be fine. It is just these newer videos I have posted. Doug

When I watch YouTube videos the buffer progress (light colored bar) never reaches the end by the time the video progress reaches half way. It is always running just in front of it.The tell tale sign would be if you went to play one and the light colored progress bar reaches the end, and the video is still in the middle, and if when the other played the progress bar stayed only an inch or two in front of the play position indicator.
Again, to me it's a connection/speed issue.

Okay Jeff, I understand what you are saying but my experience here is the blackberry blossom one will shoot out and finish downloading way before the middle of the song. Again some times and days are different, but the average is done before the middle or 3/4's into the song. On the el cumbanchero I have never been able to play it all the way through. And the length of the song actually would favor el cumbanchero as down loading faster. I am going to ask on the message board over at You tube and see if anyone answers. It would not bother me so much but I did the videos for the Polecats and feel obligated to do the best for them. Doug

Well, I just tried again by playing the Blackberry Blossom video and it DID NOT finish buffering well ahead of the video. In fact, the video paused many times to allow the buffer to catch up, with the buffer reaching the end only 7 seconds before the video. And this is on a very fast DSL line at my work. Last night, on my much slower DSL at home, it played without a hitch.
I think you have already answered your own question.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

If it was due to the encoding it would be slow all the time.Again some times and days are different
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Sorry Jeff missed that. Have to say that both videos played perfectly for me. Will try later when my internet connection gets to its slowest about teatime. Its also raining today which means more kids are in playing online games.

I want to thank you for the help you gave and also let you know the latest thought from the internet supplier. He said something that made me think. I, in my ignorance, just assumed that if I uploaded some videos to you tube a year ago, and then up loaded some to the same account last week, they would be on the same hard drive in the same server. The internet supplier mentioned that the earlier ones could be in one city and the last ones in a different city. The internet path to north idaho for the videos could be from totally different directions. That makes sense and would account for the delay in the ones but not the other. It would also account for someone in another part of the country not experiencing any problem as both paths could be more direct, or even unbalanced the other way. Anyway thanks for the help. I thought that I had done something wrong. Doug

That's easy. There is less wind resistance for the signal traveling over the ocean than traveling over mountains.I won't ask why it doesn't affect me in the UK
