AVCHD to DVD

Post by sging2 »

I have used Video Studio since version 4 but recently upgraded my camera to the Panasonic HDC-HS300 and VideoStudio x2 pro.
I then recently videoed my nieces wedding in full quality AVCHD. The problem I have is when I try to render the footage to any format even HD, mpeg2, DVD etc it comes out a little blocky and jumpy on panning shots. I have had to convert all the footage to mpeg2 using Panasonics HD Writer software first so I can edit in MPEG2 this then converts to DVD ok.
AVCHD is also very jumpy previewing, even though I have proxy switched on. It seems it just won't handle this format.

Can anyone advise, am I using the wrong settings somewhere. I just want to edit in full AVCHD and output to the format of my choice, firstly DVD 5.1 then later on Blue Ray etc.

I have the Dell XPS 720 H2C computer with 8GB of RAM so that should be fine and I am using the newest VideoStudio software with all patches applied.

Thanks.
Stephen
