No Audio after burning to disk

Post by clemolo »

Hello, I have a problem with occasional projects that burn with no audio although it is there in the rendered file before burning.
yesterday I created two projects in the current version of Video Studio. Both were created the with the same settings and rendered to DV. Both files consosted of a vieo track with a seperate music track.
Both files play fine in the computer with audio but when I added them on the timeline in MF5 and then burned them to a DVD only one had an audio track playing the other had no sound at all.
This doesn't happen every time but it does fairly frequently.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Thanks Ray

Oh... That would be annoying! I not sure if what to advice... please be specific with the way you burn. Maybe you encounter the same error as i do. Just state the steps you made perhaps i can help you.

Thanks for the reply.
I do the same procedure every time I create a DVD. Sometimes the aiudio is there but mostly it is missing,
I just added two clips to the project in MF5. The clips were previously rendered in Video Studio. Both clips were rendered in exactly the same way and were a similar length. I skipped the add a menu page just continued to the burn page. Both files had the audio playing loud and clear before the burn but after the disc was finalized, the first one had audio and the second one didn't

Same thing happened to me - please help

Post by vancellfoto »

This is so frustrating!!

I have been using MF for quite a while now without any problems until now.

All my project are built on VideoStudio then rendered to mpeg2 with same as project settings.

Same thing has happened to me as CLEMOLO. On the preview audio is there but when I burn to .iso this project there is no audio when played on a DVD player.

I have done the same project but a longer version on a DVD DL and had no problems with audio.

Can someone help? I'm confused :?

vancellfoto,

Are you also using a separate audio file?

What format is your original audio? (This usually means Movie Factory is having trouble converting from your original format to a DVD-compatible format.)

Re: No Audio after Burning

This is what I do (i've been using the same process since with no problems whatsoever):

My original files are AVCHD (.M2TS) which I have to convert to MPEG2 files before working on VideoStudio's time line. This I have to do because if I work directly from AVCHD after authoring to DVD, after transitions the video jumps a frame.

After placing and edit the necessary clips and sometimes I separate the audio from the clip to insert fillers in the 2nd track. Some videos I do will have separate audio and also a music track.

After this process I render the video as MPEG2 (same as project settings) on 100% quality.

Then I use the MPEG file in Ulead Movie Factory 6 so that I can use its wonderful menus, making sure that the settings on Ulead are the same as the MPEG file.

After testing on its preview I go to burn. What I use is normalize audio and burn to .iso.

I never had any problems this way - and this particular movie resulted in no audio. I have even done a 3.5 hr version that I burned on DL DVD and had audio.

What do you think happened?

I only ever ticked the normalize audio option once and had problems - quite some time ago and so cannot recall exactly what. Try unticking the normalize audio and burning again. If you burn as a hard drive folder rather than an ISO then you can test it with a software DVD player such as
WinDVD
PowerDVD
Nero Showtime
etc.

Hi sjj1805,

Unticking normalize audio worked - I can't understand why this happened to this particular video.

What I've noticed is that rendering was very fast this way.

Thanks for everything :D
